Comedy Night feat. Luke Pauling, Alicia Kismet & Chris Maddock  - January 15, 2026 - $10 Cover

  • Pajarito Edina 3910 West 50th Street Edina, MN, 55424 United States (map)

Luke Pauling is a Minneapolis-based comic who was just looking for an excuse to leave his apartment. Cue to today, he’s gone from appreciating stand up comedy from the sidelines to writing and rewriting jokes on his boss's dime. Soon after starting comedy, Luke became a finalist in ACME’s Funniest Person in Minneapolis, House of Comedy's Funniest Person with a Day Job, as well as Comedy Corner Underground’s Funniest Person in Time and Space contests, as well as opened for acts such as Dave Waite and SNL’s Tommy Brennan. Luke’s been able to find humor in digging through the awkward moments of his childhood and Catholic upbringing, and can be found sharing those less-than-stellar experiences all around the Midwest.

Alicia Eler (they/she) is a writer, arts journalist and culture critic. She is the author of The Selfie Generation: How Our Self-Images are Changing Our Notions of Privacy, Property, Sex, Consent and Culture. Chicago Tribune called the book “fascinating, provocative, entertaining and enlightening,” and the New York Times noted that “Eler’s book alights on the source of the selfie’s power . . . Perhaps our much-fussed-over narcissism is not a flaw but a survival tactic.” The Washington Post and New York Magazine named Alicia “the selfie expert.” Alicia is an early digital adopter, and was one of the first writers to write extensively about the selfie in a pre-Snapchat, pre-TikTok era. The book received international praise from the BBC to the Sydney Morning Herald. Alicia also does standup comedy under the name Alicia Kismet. The Sahan Journal named one of 5 diverse comedians to watch, and Minnesota Comedy wrote a feature story about Alicia’s journey as a queer, non-binary, Turkish comedian. Alicia also hosts and co-produces a unique art-comedy show called Laugh & Draw, where artists figure draw live standup comedians as they tell jokes and hold poses. Minnesota Comedy wrote about that, too! To learn more about Alicia’s comedy journey, which began in Chicago and has traveled with her to L.A. and now Minneapolis, go to aliciakismetcomedy.com. Alicia is currently based in Minneapolis.

From the land of sunkissed beer guts, Stillwater, MN, Chris Maddock is a gorgeous and classically styled stand up comedian, made of solid, delicious grapes. For the first 15 years of his career, Chris "Mad Dog" Maddock hosted the storied Death Comedy Jam, a weekly hub of MPLS comedy whose stage saw the likes of funny giants such as Maria Bamford, Mark Normand, Paul F. Thompkins, and Sam Morril, and is the subject of the documentary film, “Death’s Last Stand”. He recorded his first comedy album, “Point of Entry” in one take, at the legendary Minneapolis rock ganglion First Avenue in the 7th St. Entry, and released it in 2012 on the Grammy Award winning Stand Up! Records. Chris has opened for Hannibal Buress, Rory Scovel, Joe Derosa, and the mighty Doug Stanhope, the latter of whom felt compelled to tweet him as "very f#!%ing funny!" In 2014 Minneapolis weekly organ City Pages named him Stand Up Comic of the Year, and after performing in the 43rd San Francisco Comedy Competition, his 2nd album and special was released in 2020 under the appellation “Country Music Legend”. He lives in Minneapolis with his son, Waylon, and his better half, who is also named Kryss, but she spells it wrong.
